The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize the governing body of a general-law municipality, by ordinance, to restrict a person required to register as a sex offender from going in, on, or within a specified distance of a child safety zone in the municipality.
Local Government Impact
Any administrative costs associated with enacting an ordinance and any enforcement costs could likely be absorbed within existing resources. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
