No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would implement recommendations in the report, "Improve the Effectiveness of the Texas Common Course Numbering System" in the Legislative Budget Board's Government Effectiveness and Efficiency Report submitted to the Eighty-second Texas Legislature, 2011.

 

This bill would require an institution of higher education to specifically identify any course included in the common course numbering system that has been added to or removed from the institution's annual listing of courses to be offered in the following academic year. The bill also requires institutions to award academic credit to transfer students for each course that the student has successfully completed that serves as an equivalent course under the common course numbering system at the institution from which the student transfers.
