LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 31, 2011

TO:
Honorable Jim Jackson, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB929 by Darby (Relating to the execution docket and other records of certain court clerks.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code and the Tax Code to authorize court clerks who are required to enter information into an execution docket to enter and maintain such information in an electronic format.  The electronic format is optional and thus the bill would not result in the imposition of any new duties on court clerks.  Accordingly the bill is not expected to have any significant fiscal impact. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
