No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to authorize certain current and former employees to withhold from disclosure certain personal information when that information is maintained by a non-employing governmental body.
 
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require a sheriff’s department in a county with a population of at least 300,000 to release personnel records as defined by the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
