FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1268 by Murphy (Relating to the computation of public high school grade point averages.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend requirements related to the manner in which local school districts compute student grade point averages, including weights for certain advanced courses and would require that any weights included by the school district in the calculation of grade point average be used in determining eligibility for automatic admission to institutions of higher education.
Local Government Impact
To the extent that current school district policies regarding the computation of student grade point averages differ from the computation requirements, school districts would be required to amend local policies.
