HB1440 by Davis, Yvonne (Relating to free trial offers on consumer goods and services.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code and provides that a person who offers goods or services for a free trial period to must obtain the consumer’s written agreement prior to charging the consumer for the goods or services at the end of the free trial period. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
