No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Penal Code to establish an exception to an offense relating to the possession of a concealed handgun license if the person at the time of the offense was a statewide elected official or a member of the Legislature. The subsection would expire on September 1, 2020.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
