LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 1, 2011

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1544 by Hunter (Relating to the design of specialty license plates issued to members and former members of the United States armed forces.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 504.3011, Transportation Code, to require specialty license plates issued by the Deparment of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for former members of the United States Armed forces to include the words "Honorably Discharged."

Based on the analysis of DMV, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
