No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code by adding the hallucinogenic substances Mephedrone and Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (also known as MDPV) in any quantity, their salts, isomers, and salts of isomers to Penalty Group 2 of the Texas Controlled Substances Act. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2011.
The Department of Public Safety and the Department of State Health Services anticipate no significant fiscal impact to the State from this bill.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
