LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 13, 2011

TO:
Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1580 by Brown (Relating to the training and certification of state agency employees or contractors performing service work on pressure vessels.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would prohibit state employees and contractors from servicing pressure vessels operated by state agencies without certain certification.  The bill would also require state agencies to retain records of certification as long as the pressure vessel is in operation.

It is assumed that costs associated with servicing pressure vessels by certified state employees and contractors and related records retention would not be significant and could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
