HB1622 by Menendez (Relating to suits to enjoin gang activity that constitutes a public nuisance.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

To  remove the current language regarding a graffiti offense which requires a pecuniary loss of $500 or more, or that the graffiti offense occurs at a school, an institution of higher education, and other locations as described. The bill would provide a trial on the merits under certain conditions. The bill is not anticipated to impact judicial workloads. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

Local Government Impact

It is assumed that any additional burden on local courts and law enforcement associated with the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.
