No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code relating to energy efficiency goals and programs, public information regarding energy efficiency programs and the participation of loads in certain energy markets. The bill would establish energy efficiency goals and require electric utilities to submit energy efficiency plans to the Public Utility Commission (PUC). The bill would require the PUC to publish information on energy efficiency programs on the PUC’s website.
 
Based on the analysis of the Public Utility Commission, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
