FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 22, 2011

TO:
Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1657 by Davis, Yvonne (Relating to the reporting of health care associated infections.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require that reports of health care-associated infections must specify whether or not a reported infection resulted in the death of a patient. The Department of State Health Services indicates that the bill would not have a fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
