LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 7, 2011

TO:
Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1683 by Fletcher (Relating to parking placards for vehicles of persons with disabilities.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize a person who is a licensed to practice chiropractic in Texas or an adjacent state to provide the required written prescription for an initial application for a disabled parking placard made by or on behalf of a person with a temporary mobility problem as specified by the bill.

Based on the analysis of the Department of Motor Vehicles, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
