No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would permit the Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to pay for temporary post-release housing for an inmate or releasee if no TDCJ operated or contracted residential correctional facility exists in the county of the inmate's or releasee's legal residence. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Board of Pardons and Parole have determined that the cost of implementing the bill would not be significant.
