HB1771 by Madden (Relating to the establishment of the Specialty Courts Advisory Council.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code and provide that the Governor establish a Specialty Courts Advisory Council in the Criminal Justice Division within the Trusteed Programs within the Office of the Governor. The Council would evaluate applications for grant funding for specialty courts in this state and make funding recommendations to the Criminal Justice Division. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.
