Honorable Richard Pena Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services
FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1782 by Farias (Relating to a report on efforts made by the Department of Family and Protective Services to place children in adoptive homes.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Department of Family and Protective Services to report annually on efforts made to place children in adoptive homes. The report must include certain information sorted by region and district. The bill would take effect immediately with a two-thirds vote of all members elected to each house, or on September 1, 2011. It is assumed any cost to implement provisions of the bill would be minimal and can be absorbed within available resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
