HB1797 by Naishtat (Relating to the licensing and practice of social work.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 505, Occupations Code, to specify that a person may not engage in the practice of social work unless licensed by the chapter. Applicants with degrees from graduate programs in candidacy for accreditation would be eligible to take the licensing examination. 

The Department of State Health Services indicates that implementation of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
