IN RE:
HB1802 by Kleinschmidt (Relating to the registration and regulation of equine dental technicians, advertising by veterinarians and equine dental technicians, and the confidentiality of investigation files maintained by the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners; providing penalties.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Occupations Code to provide for the registration and regulation of equine dental technicians. The bill would require the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners to adopt rules to implement the provisions of the bill.
Based on the analysis of the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) it is assumed that responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Based on the analysis of DPS implementing the provisions of the bill could result in DPS performing additional background checks on equine dental technicians. This analysis assumes there would be no significant impact from additional revenue related to potential increases in the amount of criminal history background checks conducted by DPS.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
