HB2091 by Craddick (Relating to the authority of the State Cemetery Committee.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 2165.256(a) of Government Code to authorize the State Cemetery Committee to delegate authority for the State Cemetery's budget, operations, and personnel to the person responsible for the management of the cemetery grounds.  The bill would also amend Section 2165.2561(m) of Government Code to add authorization for the State Cemetery Committee to adopt rules for grounds operation and security of the cemetery, including rules restricting access to all roadways and walkways within the cemetery grounds.

It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources. 

The bill would take effect September 1, 2011, or immediately with two-thirds vote of all members of the Legislature.
