HB2097 by Giddings (Relating to adding a synthetic substance to Penalty Group 2 of the Texas Controlled Substances Act.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code by adding the hallucinogenic substance Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (Also known as MDPV) in any quantity, its salts, isomers, and salts of isomers to Penalty Group 2 of the Texas Controlled Substances Act. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2011.

 

The Department of Public Safety anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the State from this bill.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
