No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend section 247.066 of the Health and Safety Code relating to appropriate resident placement at assisted living facilities; assessing an administrative penalty against a facility; emergency suspensions or closing orders; and section 247.068 relating to Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) retaliation against a facility owner, controlling person or employee.
DADS indicated that any new requirements pursuant to implementation of the bill could be absorbed within available resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
