Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 21, 2011

TO:
Honorable Richard Pena Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2229 by Coleman (Relating to the HIV Medication Program Advisory Committee.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to appoint an advisory committee to advise the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) concerning the HIV Medication Program; the Board of Health is currently authorized to appoint an advisory committee to assist in the development of procedures and guidelines for the HIV Medication Program. The advisory committee currently exists and is administratively attached to DSHS; according to HHSC and DSHS, there would be no significant fiscal impact from changing the appointment process.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
