IN RE: | HB2250 by Bonnen (Relating to the abolition of the Coastal Coordination Council and the transfer of its functions to the General Land Office.), As Introduced |
The bill is the Sunset legislation for the Coastal Coordination Council, which will be abolished on September 1, 2011, unless continued by the Legislature.
The bill contains the following Sunset Commission recommendations: it abolishes the Council and assigns its functions to the General Land Office (GLO) and the Land Commissioner; it would require the Land Commissioner to establish a Coastal Coordination Advisory Committee and specify its membership; and it would the Land Commissioner to evaluate the Permitting Assistance Group’s functions, membership, and usefulness
Because the GLO currently provides staffing and other administrative support for the Council, no significant fiscal impact to the state is expected as a result of the bill's passage.
