HB2335 by Hardcastle (Relating to motor fuel quality and testing.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would give the Department of Agriculture (TDA) the authority to request documentation related to the delivery of motor fuel; authorize the Commissioner of Agriculture (Commissioner) to establish, by rule, documentation and reporting requirements related to motor fuel; authorize TDA to adopt rules necessary to bring about uniformity between the motor fuel standards established under the Agriculture Code and nationally recognized standards; authorize TDA to mark motor fuel dispensers that violate the Agriculture Code to be as “Out of Order;” and, would modify administrative penalty amounts for violations related to the regulation of motor fuels.

Based on information provided by the Department of Agriculture, it is anticipated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency’s existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
