No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Government Code to permit the Department of Criminal Justice's Office of Inspector General to possess and operate devices that would assist the office in preventing or investigating potential or actual escapes involving the use of cellular telephones within prisons.  The Texas Department of Criminal Justice anticipates no significant fiscal impact from the bill.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
