IN RE: | HB2369 by Quintanilla (Relating to the accreditation of training programs and examinations for certain emergency medical services personnel.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend Section 773.050, Health and Safety Code, to prohibit the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) from adopting rules before January 1, 2018 that would require certain emergency medical personnel training programs to be accredited by a national organization. The bill would require DSHS to partner with, but not reimburse, a testing entity for testing related to paramedic licensure. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
DSHS indicates that any modifications to rules could be addressed with existing staff.
