LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2011

TO:
Honorable Mike Hamilton, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2567 by Gonzalez, Naomi (Relating to public notice of procedures for submitting complaints about motor vehicle dealers.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 2301.201 of the Occupations Code to require the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to make information regarding the DMV board's functions and procedures for filing and resolving certain complaints or protests involving motor vehicle dealers available in a manner to enable the information to be posted in a public area of each DMV office, county tax assessor-collector's office, county attorney's office, and city attorney's office.

Based on the analysis of DMV, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
