LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 29, 2011

TO:
Honorable Sid Miller, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2613 by Flynn (Relating to the procedure under which a person may renew a license to carry a concealed handgun.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code provisions related to renewal of a concealed handgun license. The bill would apply to any renewal of a license to carry a concealed handgun made by the Department of Public Safety on or after the effective date, regardless of the date the original license was issued.

This analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the bill's provisions could be met with existing resources.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
