IN RE:
HB2703 by Truitt (Relating to the regulation of orthotists and prosthetists.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 605, Occupations Code, relating to the regulation of orthotists and prosthetists, to include nurses and physicians assistants in the provisions of the chapter, provided they are acting with authority delegated by a licensed physician, chiropractor, or podiatrist. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. The Department of State Health Services indicates that implementation of the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
