No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to liability for obtaining improper unemployment compensation benefits.  Based on the provisions of the bill, The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) anticipates an increased recovery rate for overpayments that would be credited to the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund.  Based on the analysis of the TWC, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
