IN RE: | HB2960 by Darby (Relating to vehicles used for the purpose of participating in equine activities or attending livestock shows.), As Engrossed |
The bill would amend Chapter 502 of the Transportation Code to allow the use of a commercial farm vehicle to transport the owner or a member of the owner's family for the purpose of participating in certain equine activities or attending livestock shows. The bill would amend Section 504.504, Transportation Code, regarding specialty license plates for certain farm vehicles, to add farm trailers or semitrailers used to participate in equine activities or attending livestock shows to the types of farm trailers/semitrailers eligible for the specialty plates with payment of a $5 plate fee.
Based on the analysis of the Deparmtment of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Public Safety, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State and any associated costs or duties for implementation of the bill could be absorbed within the agencies' existing resources.
