No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to expand the permitted instances in which electronic information derived from driver’s licenses or personal identification certificates may be accessed or used. The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all the members of each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011. The Department of Public Safety anticipates no significant fiscal impact from the bill.
