FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2011

TO:
Honorable Richard Pena Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3051 by Pickett (Relating to the provision of child care by certain facilities exempt from child-care licensing requirements.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 42.041, Human Resources Code, relating to required licenses for child-care facilities and child placing agencies.  The bill would permit certain child-care facilities to provide care for each child for a maximum of 15 hours per week without obtaining a license if certain conditions are met.

The Department of Family and Protective Services indicates the agency could implement the bill within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
