LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 10, 2011

TO:
Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3085 by Taylor, Larry (Relating to the period of a license for a freestanding medical emergency care facility.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 254, Health and Safety Code, related to the term of a license issued to a freestanding medical emergency care facility. The term of licenses issued or renewed after the effective date of the bill would increase from one year to two. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

The Department of State Health Services indicates that implementation of the bill could be completed with existing resources. It is assumed that revenue associated with the licenses will not change as a result of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
