IN RE: | HB3090 by Creighton (Relating to the frequency of water audits by certain retail public utilities.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Water Code to require a retail public utility that provides potable water to file an annual water audit computing the utility’s system water loss during the preceding year, unless the utility only serves a population of 3,300 and does not receive any financial assistance from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), the water audit would be required once every five years.
TWDB would be required to compile the information included in the required water audits. TWDB reported there would be no fiscal impact to implement the provisions of the bill.
