No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to prepare a comprehensive plan to transfer all of the programs operated by DPS related to driver’s licenses and personal identification cards to the DMV. The plan must be submitted not later than September 1, 2012. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. No significant fiscal impact to the Department of Public Safety or the Department of Motor Vehicles is anticipated.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
