TO:
Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3294 by Harper-Brown (Relating to the posting of annual financial information on public Internet websites by certain transportation-related entities.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require certain transportation-related entities, including toll authorities, regional transportation authorities, regional transit authorities, metropolitan planning organizations, rapid transit authorities, municipal transit departments, and county mass transit departments to annually post a financial report on its public website.

The Texas Department of Transportation reported the department currently prepares such financial statements and can absorb the costs of posting such data to the agency's website within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
