No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to increase the amount that a public utility agency is authorized to award a construction contract to on the basis of competitive bids to more than $50,000. Under current statute, the amount is more than $20,000. The provision would exclude a contract necessary from unforeseen damage to property or public equipment.
