HB3473 by Gallego (Relating to a defense to prosecution for a child younger than 14 years old for the offense of prostitution.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 43.02, Penal Code, to create a defense to prostitution if the actor was younger than 14 and was forced to commit the conduct by a person 18 years of age or older.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2011 and it is assumed to not have a significant fiscal impact on the state.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
