HB3477 by Carter (Relating to the permanent revocation of a person's driver's license or permit on conviction of a fifth offense relating to the operating of a motor vehicle while intoxicated.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Transportation Code to permanently revoke a person’s driver’s license, permanently deny the issuance of a driver’s license, and prevent the issuance of an occupational driver’s license if the person has previously been convicted four or more times of certain intoxication offenses. All the applicable offenses would have to occur on or after September 1, 2011. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. No significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
