No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Utilities Code to authorize a municipality to establish and regulate certain conditions for gas pipelines, including mapping or taking an inventory of pipelines and related appurtenances within the boundaries of a municipality or the area in the municipality’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. Related appurtenances would include pumps, compressors, separators, dehydration units, and tank batteries. Under current statute, a municipality is authorized to establish conditions over, under, along, or across a public street or alley or private residential area in the boundaries of the municipality.
