LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 9, 2011

TO:
Honorable Jim Jackson, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3807 by Woolley (Relating to the option of providing electronic recordings of proceedings in the municipal court of record for the City of Houston.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would repeal Section 30.00676(b) of the Government Code which provides for each municipal judge to appoint an official court reporter under Section 30.00010. The provisions of the bill would apply only to the City of Houston municipal courts.

The Office of Court Administration (OCA) reported the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact on the State.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
