The cost for the per diem of the members of the legislature is estimated to be $1.74 million for the 60 day budget session. The House and Senate would require an additional 53 FTE's and associated costs are estimated to be $414,856. Legislative Council would require an additional 7 FTEs and associated costs and administrative costs are estimated to be $453,000 in the even numbered years and $107,000 in the odd numbered years. The Comptroller's Office would require an additional 4 FTEs and associated administrative costs of $312,000 per fiscal year beginning in 2014.
This analysis assumes a 60 day budget session. A 30 day extension would increase these costs.
