No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $105,495.


The resolution would propose an amendment to Section 47, Article III of the Texas Constitution allowing the Legislature to authorize and regulate gaming and that any gaming not otherwise permitted by law would require a local option election to authorize such gaming in a county.

Any fiscal implications would depend on enabling legislation.

The proposed amendment would be submitted to voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
