No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $105,495.


The proposed constitutional amendment would amend the Texas Constitution to permit the Texas Legislature, through the General Appropriations Act or other law, to set the salary of the Speaker of the House of Representatives or the Lieutenant Governor in an amount greater than the salary received by other members of the Legislature.

The amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
