No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.
The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $105,495.
The resolution would propose a constitutional amendment to authorize the Governor to issue an order prohibiting the Texas Department of Criminal Justice from performing executions on or after the effective date of the order until the order is revoked. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.
