SB36 by Zaffirini (Relating to methods for increasing student success and degree completion at public institutions of higher education.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Higher Education Coordinating Board to establish a method for assessing the quality and effectiveness of academic advising services available to students at each institution.  The method of assessment must include the use of student surveys and identify quantifiable measures for an assessment.  The method of assessment shall be established by the Higher Education Coordinating Board not later than September 1, 2012. Provisions of the bill would be absorbed within existing resources.
