FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB56 by Zaffirini (Relating to the inclusion and exclusion of certain information as part of the immunization registry.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill amends Health and Safety Code, Chapter 161 to allow individuals younger than 18 years of age to be included in the Texas immunization registry (ImmTrac) unless the individual’s legally authorized representative requests the child to be excluded from the registry making the registry “opt-out” for this age group. Currently, DSHS is required to verify consent for this age group before including immunization-related information in ImmTrac.
It is assumed that any costs associated with modifications to the registry application to implement the bill changes could be absorbed within existing agency resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
