The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to allow the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS), in consultation with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), to consider implementing, if feasible, additional streamlining initiatives related to the administration and delivery of services provided through Medicaid 1915(c) long-term care waiver programs. The bill would also amend the Human Resources Code to require DADS and HHSC to explore the development of uniform licensing and contracting standards that would apply to all contracts for the delivery of services provided through Medicaid 1915(c) long-term care waiver programs. The bill would also amend the Human Resources Code to require DADS to perform utilization review of services in all Medicaid 1915(c) long-term care waiver programs. The provisions of the bill have no fiscal implication to the State.
The bill would be effective September 1, 2011.
